I grew up on a farm and ranch in Northern Utah, where I learned integrity, respect and work ethic. Right out of high school I heard about The Mountain States Apprenticeship the thing that intrigued me the most was 18 dollars an hour. I jumped on the opportunity. I started and ended my apprenticeship in Colorado. Over my career I have worked with some of the smallest and largest IBEW union contractors. I have worked through the ranks starting in MSLCAT from cold apprentice to journeyman into foreman. It has given me the opportunity to realize just how much I love teaching and developing skills in this career, a positive attitude will go a long way, and hard work and dedication is always noticed.
I met my wife along the way, we were young and decided to travel the country together in a 5th wheel trailer. I can say it only strengthened our marriage. We learned what it meant to rely on each other, care for and support each other. Traveling on the road you quickly learn it is easy to make friends or I should say family, in this industry you hear the word brotherhood often. The men I have worked with have become my brother’s “family”. Through our travels we have worked in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, the hot desserts of California, the sunny beaches in Hawaii, the tornado ally in Kansas and Nebraska, the potato fields in Idaho, the hot humid night and days in Texas, the beautiful red rocks of Utah and disaster restoration across the coast and country.
I look forward to meeting you and starting your career in the power line industry.
